Pale Blue Dot 4/16/18"In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves." -Carl Sagan
As we make our stand on a floating rock suspended in an ongoing darkness, we are clueless to the fact that we have caused so much damage . As we sit staring at the screens of a small metal screen we are blinded of what is happening around us. All of the destruction and extermination happening around the world has not yet reached our notice. The only way we know what is happening is through our tiny little screens; and maybe the information we are receiving isn't even the truth or maybe it is and i'm just getting ahead of myself. We act as if it isn't our fault and that it would happen any way, but really in all reality the human race is the cause of War, Extinction of Animals, pollution and many, many others. We act as if there is no way to stop what we have sadly started. We act as if we are the most intelligent and the most "Superior" which in reality we aren't. If all humans were really that "superior" why do we cause so many problems? Why does some "superior" person get to decide who is worthy or who isn't? It just doesn't make sense. If we sit back with our feet up acting like help is on the way how are we supposed to fix our mistakes? Well we sit here in a dark cold outer space, filled with all of this hatred how are we supposed to come together and mend the world back together? Maybe in some other world everything will be perfect and we wont have to do anything but for right now everything isn't fine. We use War and killing to make things "better" but we all know that has no use. In the end its all just for the power of being able to claim some land that isn't really yours. Who said you could decide who gets what? Maybe help will never come or maybe it wont, but until that day we stand on our floating rock like any other normal human day. If I Could Have a Conversation With One of the ArtistsIf I could choose to speak with Lui Shou Kwan or Emily Carr it would have to be Emily Carr. I can really understand what Emily Carr is trying to show in her artwork. I would love to be able to ask her where she got her inspiration for her work from like how she was able to just imagine something in her head and in one stroke of her brush there was a whole image. I would also want to ask her about how she was able to sit in the forest for many hours and just sketch what she felt. She is an amazing artist and I truly love her artwork. |
